Beijing

We'll admit to being a bit nervous to visit Beijing. We brought masks, cough lozenges and eye drops; prepared for horrible yellow dust storms and sickeningly toxic pollution. However, other than being really cold and windy at night, Beijing was extremely pleasant and we had a wonderful time there. We came to visit Beijing's many historical sites, but discovered that the giant city also has a lot of culture and charm. Surprisingly, we vastly preferred Beijing to Shanghai.
