Xi'an We took three domestic flights while in China on China Southern Airlines, from Beijing to Xian, Xian to Guilin and Guilin to Hangzhou. The airline was very efficient and always on time, the planes were clean and modern and full meals were served on short flights. We managed to score free dinners on our three flights, even though none of them were longer than two hours, the airlines still served complete meals. We asked our guides why the airlines serve full meals on such short flights and they simply responded, “because it is dinner time.” American, “we only serve peanuts and pretzels,” airlines could learn a thing or two from the Chinese airlines! Plus, the airplanes were decorated with Olympic Babies, the official mascots of the Beijing Olympics.
