Costa Rica & Nicaragua, January 2008

Chris and Nina went back to Costa Rica with their friend Kathy in January of 2008.  They also had a three day excursion to Granada, Nicaragua.  A great time was had by all.

Day One: Arriving in Costa Rica, Picking up the Rental Car and Staying the night in Belen.

Day Two: Driving from San José to Monteverde, with stops at the Volcán Poás, the La Paz Waterfall Gardens and the village of Sarchi.

Day Three: Riding the Zip Lines above the Monteverde/Santa Elena Cloud Forest and Taking a Tour of a local, co-op, Coffee Farm.

Day Four: Exploring and Shopping in Santa Elena and Taking a Van, then Boat, then Van again from Monteverde to Arenal.

Day Five: Morning of Kayaking on Lake Arenal and Afternoon at the Tabacon Hot Springs.

Day Six: Morning of Horseback Riding to La Fortuna Falls, Afternoon at Arenal Bungee and Evening at Baldi Hot Springs.

Day Seven: A Long Drive to the Beach and an Afternoon at the Palmares Fiesta.

Day Eight: A Relaxing day at Playas Del Coco and Playa Hermosa beaches.

Day Nine: A Morning of Pottery in Guaitil and an Afternoon at Playa Conchal (sort of) and an evening at Playa Ocotal.

Day Ten: A Wonderful Day at Playa Hermosa and a Quest for the Fiesta Queen.

Day Eleven: Crossing the Border into Nicaragua, Learning About Cigars and Hanging Out With Belgians!

Day Twelve: Morning Horse and Carriage Ride Around Old Town and Afternoon Boat Ride to Las Isletas in Lake Nicaragua.

Day Thirteen: A Tour of Volcan Masaya, the Masaya Mercado, the villages of Pueblos Blancos and Lunch Overlooking the Laguna de Apoyo.

Day 14:  The trip back across the Nicaraguan/Costa Rican border and getting some supplies for the trip home.
